Some of my customers are leaving all 8 of them in. They work okay as long as you don't try and really push the machine. If in greenstem beans, it can really take the power to get them through. If they just back off on ground speed a little, they get along just fine. One 2388 with AFX rotor has all spiked bars on the back half with no straight bars and the vanes all set to fast position in the seperating area. He can operate his machine quite a bit faster than anyone else. Just about all of our beans around here in central Nebraska are irrigated and have greenstems, so they are tough. They are calling for a killing frost tonight so that will make a big difference also.
