I'm hoping no more than some cab upgrades and a decal change from a 2388. The new funky side panels would be OK but hey, don't screw with the inside of an 88. It works fine and ain't broke!!

Case IH needs that class 7 machine because right now they don't haven an affordable 12-row machine (8010). A 2388 with 12-row is not practical. the 7010 will be a common platform with the NH class 7 machine CR960 just like the the 8010 is common to the CR970 I would guess. There are a lot of larger farmers out there who would like that 12-row machine but don't want to spend the $$$ for an 8010. The 7010 should be around 340hp or so. I've read that the class 7 market is not the largest, but is by far the fastest growing, CaseIH is behind in this just like they were behind on the planter.

I agree And i always lauged about haveing a 12 row corn head talk considering they didn't make a planter for it Kinda need one for the other and we don't want another brand glad to hear its changing also a large farmer isn't going 7010 its 8010 i think thats what we will do im sure in time still going to give the 8010 a few years thou before we jump

Didn't know they didn't have a planter to match. I've seen 800 and 900 Cyclo planters with 12 row since the late 80's. Guess they dropped the Cyclo out of the line sometime and I didn't notice. Best planter I've ever used. For the small farms with little 5-10 acre patches scattered all over between waterways and creeks, it was so slick to dump 15 bags in the thing and drive a few hours without having to stop a long time to fill many small boxes!

Well.....i guess i was meaning 24 row planters I think they make a 12 row in the 1200 ASM series But if you wanted a 24 row planter your out of luck inless you go to the old style (sorry if i mis spoke)

The 1200 is available up to 16 row in 30" spacing. Problem with the 7010 initially was a 2388 with AFX rotor and 12 row head would out perform the 7010 and the 7010 cost more money.

Bigger need for a large combine Then they held back on the 7010 after they put the afx rotor in the 2388 and it was doing just as much as a 7010 was supposed to do (at that time) Also with the ruff start of the 8010 they were in no hurry but since thats lined out its bound to happen I just figured they would stop the 2388's and bring out the 6010 and do all 3 at the plant thats probably in the works im sure

it would have been better so start out with a 6010 model then work your way up to a class 7 and 8 machine.
