I guess some things work better for someIJ I have two 9190's and really like the engine in them. A lot of power(225hp) and no problems. Have 2700 hrs on one and 2500 on the other. Would like to add another tractor and if I get one with the same engine, well then I use same filters on all of them. Also the price seems about right for me on the used tractors. I rented a 9650 one year and didn't think that engine was really big enough for that tractor, a little short on cidIJ The big tractors have a lot more cid in them. So I hope I answered your concernIJ Ilnewholland

No they have been problem free. We do run a stright 30 wt oil in them, I think that is better than a 15-40, seems to be for me. What problems have you hadIJ Ilnh

Somewhere in the oil system there is a valve that sticks on cold start up. If you rev the engine past about 1200 rpm before it warms up it will build so much oil pressure it will blow a gasket or the rubber oil seal out of the oil filter. I have had it looked at numerous times but they can't seem to find the problem.

Valve is in oil pump. Had the same problem with one or two. Pulled front cover to replace pump. No problem with large inline sixes. large inline sixes seam to be indestuctable while the small ones need to be babyed. Small ones have been good to the guys that warm up before loading, cool down before shut down, avoid excess us of starting fluid ect. Don't think there's anything you could of did to prevent oil pump valve problem. Otherwise there has been very few major problems with this line of tractors. Never had a piston out of or head off of the large Deutz or Navistar Detroits yet. Have dealer check Heritage line if OEM pump is to much for 9650. Good luck

mo........that is a very good engine. if you are having problems there is something lacking in your maintenance or your dealer and his work.........just my opinion.....dont base your opinion on one engine....a lot of people love the 913. vstk

No it is the 40 series. It is basically a relabled Navistar to fill hole in Detroits market. The two companys may well share some patents on fuel injectionIJIJIJ Only 60 series Agco used was in the largest 4WD.
