Combines AGCO parts cost

Well all I can say to AGCO and the other companies is the farmer that buys the parts has fixed cost doing business and if the equipment and parts are too high I'll have to shop else where and buy other brands of equipment and after market parts. Maybe the big ag companies should practice what they preach. I would say most of the upper management has no idea what it takes to farm and manage a average farm but they can think of two dozen reason that you should use only there parts and machinery. Alot easier telling some one how to spend your money, and it always ends it will make you money. Most employees of these companies net more income than the average farmer today. Maybe it is time AGCO get there Shnt together and take care of what they have and stop buying every other company out there.

I will go to the dealer and ask them to submit a request for a price review. I will ask a truck repair shop about their price so I have that information for the dealer also.

The cheapest part I ever bought from Agco made me as mad as any of their other overpriced stuff. It was a sheet of paper that I was charged 10 cents for, that explained how to install this new substitute part for the part they no longer sell. This was not an improved part, just a cheaper "off the rack" electric part substitute. Takes some nerve. AGCO needs to treat their "inherited" parts customers right or they will loose the loyality those customers have to their heritage lines.

I work parts for a Gleaner dealer, and I through the instructions in as part of the part, I can't see charging anyone for them. Some parts have gone up quite a bit lately because of steel and oil prices, whether for manufacturing or transportation costs. Some stuff is out of line, and I called in a price check this morning so it was kinda ironic to be reading this now. The unfortunate thing is parts are high everywhere and a lot of the cheap stuff you get what you pay for. Not trying to defend anyone here, we have a small farm at home with a mix of equipment and its all expensive to repair, thats why both dad and I work and call farming a hobby.

Well I farm full time and out of that has to come food, shelter, heat, clothes, all my insurance and the list go's on. some outside income would be nice ,but milk cow and farm 800 acres kinda tuff to hold down a job in town. Maybe the problem is the farmer is being left behind in the general economy , like pay 2005 prices but sell at 1960 prices. And one other thing Justin has farming been (reduced to a hobbyIJIJIJIJIJ) If so I guess it time to pack it in!
