Combines air cleaner kit

Case IH says you get 38% more life out of a filter. I have a 2188 and cut a lot of beans. I'm going to put the new style kit on. My filter is full every night when I quit cutting. It's got to be worth the money to upgrade, I think it is a poor design for this combine.

nd88, I didn't see a major difference in filter life (after changing the air intake). However I haven't plugged a filter in one day either. I do notice that the filter runs longer when there is no wind or it blows so as the dust exiting the machine is not sucked back in the rotating screen. I think a better precleaner may extend filter life or an option of switching the intake to the windward side of the combine (switchable from inside the cab)may eliminate some problems.
