Combines air foil chaffers and sieves

I have a rigid chaffer on a 6620 and it works great in corn, beans and wheat. We run it whithout the sieve, we were told that it disrupts the air to much on the chaffer. I know a guy that ran one on a IH1660 and always liked it. Good luck with yours.

Do you run without the bottom sieve in all grains or just cornIJ Can you control the air enough to get a clean sampleIJ

I leave it out for everything. The guy who sold me mine said it runs best with a setting of 1000 rpm's on the air. I get about 900 on my 6620 and it gets a real clean sample on all three. When we first got it we had to cover some of the holes in corn. The air was not blasting the chaff out like it should and it was carrying it out the back on one side. We just finished corn and we were running about 3.5 mph in 200 bushel corn and it worked just fine. In wheat we have to cut the air down to about 700 to keep it from blowing over, but it still gets a real good sample. let me know if you need anything else. Sam
