the air jet chaffer has worked very well in Ontario crops. You are right about the larger holes. we keep the bottom sieve in but open it up. This gets the maximum amount of air deflected up so the air jet can do it's job. The Ontario dealer {Argis 2000 ltd}will be at the Toronto Farm show the 2nd week of feb. in hall 3.

In Indiana, but this holds true where ever...I have run without the clean grain sieve mostly in corn to keep from having any returns...I feel like the lower sieve needs to be in to keep the system balanced - fore and aft cleaning...Not important on a Gleaner as the shaker is all one unit, or used to be...Deere and IH are fore and aft. Also for the air jet to work properly, Marvin says the clean grain sieve needs to be set to 60% open I believe.

I am in Ontario and have used them for 2 years. Awesome! Works excellent in wheat and beans too. You will need different elements or inserts, one for corn and one for wheat_soys. I left the bottom sieve in and set as the instructions suggest. Cost- $$$ I can't remember but worth it in the end.

I have ran the air jet chaffer here in Ontario for 2 years. Works great in whites, soybeans, corn, and wheat. I have 3 different types of sections but you could maybe get away with 2. It worked great last year when we were in snowy conditions. If you didn't quit when the temperature started to mild up, the snow would start to stick to chaffer, the ome chaffer would have to be blown or washed out. The Gorden chaffer with removable elemnts could be taken out section by section and clened with no water. I think it is a must to get the most out of the combine, returns are next to nothing, therfore rotor loss is limited to next to nothing. Talk to Gary @ Argis 2000 in listowel.
