Combines air pressure on duals

35psi inside, 25 outside, that has been working well for us.

I had this discussion with a tire company rep this past winter regarding tractor tire pressures. I would think combines would be the same. The dual should be the same pressure as the main tire. Otherwise it is a smaller diameter and will flex more and not carry as much weight which basically defeats the purpose of having duals.

I run my outside tire 2 lbs. less than the inside tire. 27n and 25n respectively. I would rather have that inside tire carry slighty more weight.

After reading this thread last night, I decided to wait to post until I read the sticker on my 18x42 duals. I didn't want to get it wrong. "Dual Tire Pressure should be maintained at 1_2 to 2_3 of Prime Tire Pressure. (Example- Inside Tire 28 PSI-Dual Tire 16 PSI) I have allways run 10 PSI less in all my dual applications. Running the same pressure on both is asking for rear end problems, because of the leverage of the outside tire.

We reduce pressure by a couple PSI for duals and a couple more for triples. I'd rather get slightly heavier footprint on inside tires to reduce chance of axle failure.
