Down in Aussy we have what is called a vortex reel. It is a tangental fan the full width of the front, fitted in place of the bat or tine reel. It runs on the hydraulics that run the reel, so is completely variable in speed, therefore air pressure, from the cab seat. Mine is made by a firm called Harvestaire. It also has a panel mounted in the cab which gives a readout of fan speed, and incorporates a tilt mechanism run by an electric linear actuator to alter the angle the blast of air crosses the knife. As it [the air reel] mounts on the normal bat_tine reel arms trial and error soon discovers how high above the knife, and what angle of the blast works best. I use it for lentils which grow 9 inches tall then fall over! Not much bulk, light in weight. Excellent results.

You mean an AWS air reelIJ We have one on the CR940. They do pay for themselves. Sepcially on hills. Flat ground they stop beans from going back out but really pay for themselves on hills. There really good for edibles. Take care, Nathan
