Point of view as far as what? Are they money makers? Absolutely not. There is almost no market for alpaca fiber. Most alpaca products come from South America. In the '90's there were TV commercials about how you could make all kinds of money raising alpacas. All of the alpacas I've had have been rescues from people who attempted to be alpaca farmers and found there was no market.
They make nice pets if they've been raised properly. you have to be very careful raising them, they can become "overly tame" and become very demanding for human contact. There are lots of books about raising alpacas.
