Combines Alt power on R62

Are you going yet STTIJ I would get that alternator rechecked. Could be diode going out or maybe, if you did not replace the alternator bearings, which we do almost every season, a bearing may be on the way out. Alternatively one of the batteries could also be going bad. Next, check for any evidence of a nasty resistance in the circuit somewhere. Unplug any connectors in the circuit and check that they are clean and not full of chaff and maybe a little corroded. That will definitely cause problems. And finally check that a fan belt idler bearing or fan [ or water pump ] bearing is not starting to seize up. Usually this will show up with a belt that is rather sad and getting sadder quick! If it is cummins powered, judging from our experience, there are that many fan belt sizes that I think AGCO had a separate belt for every individual Gleaner built. Blow any heavy dust and etc off the backside of those indicator lights as well. I think that sometime in the ages past, [ l2 days! ] we have experienced some current leakage across between the various indicator lights. Enjoy!

stt: My 95 R62 was doing the same thing. I first put on new alternator. Same thing.Put in new batteries, no change. One morning, while servicing we let it run with lights, ac, and both clutches on and voltmeter pulled down to eleven volts. While feeling connections for hot spots, I found a hot spot in wiring harness that goes to cab from engine compartment. Cut chinese finger off and pulled wires out of loom and found that one of the big wires that carries current to cab had only three strands holding it together.I think R.O.M is spot on "check for any evidence of a nasty resistance in the curcuit somewhere". I like to spend three or four hundred bucks before I get the tester out. It gets me in the mood. Good luck and let us know what you find out. des.

Had low voltage light come on this fall and it turned out to be one of the little wires that plug into the bottom of the alt had broken off right where it plugs in.

Need a good dog to push it all into a corner as to limit the miles_Ks in paddock Thanks to all the tin tank

Yeh! know what you mean! Got so dry around our way that the power poles are chasing the dogs! last drought we had we harvested across half a dozen paddocks, looked in the grain tank and found this bloody half starved sparrow at the bottom. That bloody bird had eaten the lot. I reckon I have seen a few of his off spring around lately! Cheers!
