JD, I've heard the same thing. The 2388 with the AFX rotor is just as much machine as the 7010 or what ever they call it, and weighs a lot less and cost a lot less. Good decission by case as far as I'm concerned. As far as I know they will be built at Grand Island on the original frame. If they'ld build it on the CR frame it would be a 7010 wouldn't it. K.A.

From talking to CASE-IH and NH people I've heard first hand that the 2388 will be continued in Grand Island as a class 6 combine. The AFX rotor is new for this year and can be retrofitted in older machines as well. Of the new 8010 CASE sold only 60 machines to selected farmers for this year. They wanted to have a limited number of machines out to find the bugs. I think that is a very good programm. Much better than dumping them on the market and then not able to catch up like JD or Claas.

Sounds to me like that the other manufacturers have more confidence in their products! All combine manufacturers operate in similar fashion when releasing new products. I think your AFX numbers might be a little high.

Confidence alone doesn't perform. Or why else did so many 2002 STS's burn up last summerIJ Or why have all the JD 20series tractors been recalledIJ Or why does Claas change all their concaves in Australia (they need to change them here too but they refuse for now)IJ Why did we have to put a seal kit in our STS's in spring 2001IJ I still think it is nice, when a company tries to get as many bugs worked out as possible before they sell a product in big numbers and have to chase them after that. Or when all the new combines brake down at nearly the same time with the same problem and the manufacturer doesn't have nearly enough spare parts to supply them all, as it has happened. What do yo mean by "AFX"IJ Do you mean the new generation combineIJ The AFX rotor is available in the "old" 2388, too. As far as for the number 8010s sold, I only pass on what I've been told by CASE-IH representatives.

The 2300 Series with the new AFX Rotor have made the Eurpoean CASE site and are being called the X-Clusive series.

Our dealer came by one day and picked it up to take it to the shop. He said they have to do it to all the 20 series tractors and fix-update them, whatever you want to call it. Hasn't happened on our previous tractors.

It's what makes John Deere the best company out there! Period. I've had them all, and by far they will take better care of you than any other company. It's a simple recall...doesn't it happen to every pickup you've ever boughtIJ Sure has mine, but what I like about Deere is that these things are important and they'll keep doing it even when it gets several years old. As you can see in my name, I thought I'd be red forever, but man, did I see the (green) light! It's all about support, and Deere's been head and shoulders above my wildest expectations.

You are lucky to have a good dealer. Most J.D. dealers have the attitude that if its green and there is something wrong its your fault or you do not know how to run it.

If you have a good dealer, that makes a world of difference. But what I have seen and heard from Deere at the custom harvester convention, was about the worst I can imagine on such an ocassion. What I have seen and heard about the red support was all possitive so far. We've been through quite some Deere experiences and are looking at CASE for the future.
