Combines Amen again

Whoa there hyper, why don't you sell a Crary air reel to the guy! Feeding problems will end and the guy will be able to pocket 1-3 more bushels of beans per acre than the regular old Hart Carter reel. Do the math, it doesn't take very long to pay for one of those reels especially when ordering a new header. Kelly

There must be something about being in a position of power that crams your head so far up your butt that you can't see reallity.I've seen it in many different situations. You would think that a company would be in business to succeed.(That means whipping the competition) You must be smart enough to see the needs_demands of the future and act on them before your competition beats you to it!!!Denying reallity(such as need for full fingered auger)and refusing even to play catch up is unexcusable. To be "number one" you must lead.Come on AGCO get serious.Get out in the field and talk to your customers and listen to their suggestions.

A full fingered augerIJ My first exposure to one was yesterday in an earlier post. Ditto, to an air reel although I have seen a few parked in buildings but never running in a crop.

I would imagane that AGCO has there plate pretty full at the moment with all of the power struggles and that pesky little SEC investigation to be bothered with customer demands.I would think that the only demands that they are worried about right now are the P_O'ed stockholders and some goverment lawyers. Seriously though,I feel for you guys on the this fulled fingered auger deal I run red and we don't have one yet either. later, Will

You can pull your head out of the sand and realize that air reels saved beans no matter what color of header they are resting on. They solve feeding problems at they same time. Why add to the complexity of a machine with a full fingered auger when an air reel will do the same thing and put more bushels in the binIJ I have been in the field and seen what air reels do. I don't recall any customers requesting a full fingered auger. BTW, I am not company brass.

The air reel is a wonderful addition. We have a 25' 500 with a Crary Air reel. The benefits from better feeding as well as blowing those stray beans into the header soon pay for the reel. Especially in short beans, it really shines.

So, is the crary air reel also a advantage in tall heavy green vine soybeanIJ

NO! The pipes pushing thru the beans shatters them before they get to the table. You should not have to spend $7000.00 to make a head feed.

And a air reel is not complexIJ They are a noisy dusty high wear item that should not be needed and do not work in all areas. They do not always save beans. I want a full finger auger with a cam reel from hart carter. Not one with a 30 foot chain!

I'd disagree. I've owned a Crary since '98 on an 800 flex and its one of the best attachments yet for beans. More and more Gleaners, as well as JD's and Case_IH's are being equipped with Crary's. They work well in short or tall beans, green or very dry. Any shattered beans are blown into the header. They keep the beans feeding evenly and eliminate the stress on the feederhouse drive regardless of the combine color. A full-fingered header auger may help but I'm still sold on my Crary.
