I've seen 3000 hrs on one but it had not been trouble free. At 1500 hrs they lost a cooling fan bearing and lost an injection pump at 2500 hrs. The RPM thing comes into play too because they sure did drop the governed speed down quickly when they started to loose oil pumps.
