Is using anti-seize on lug nuts DOT approved? I'm getting conflicting information from everywhere.

There is indeed conflicting information online, but the majority of people say that they haven't encountered any problems before. I think that using anti-seize on lug nuts will not cause them to loosen, over time.

Actually any grease on them will lead to over torquing. Light oil like wd-40 will allow the lugs to be properly torqued.

Clean with a wire brush and torque to specs. You should be removing them often enough for bearing and brake inspections that nothing else will ever be required.
