Combines anybody want to know why not to buy Agco productsIJ

Why not go down the road to North StarIJ Could have gotten any help you needed. They have sold 8-10 combines this year and sell a few new each year. What is your gripe with AGCO or your dealer anywayIJ JJ

the buck has to stop somewhere, and there is just so much money to go around, the decisions were not what I wanted, It was what the company wanted, as the push for the A85 was all encompassing.

My favorite AGCO dealer told me a couple years ago that (he felt) AGCO was deterring advancement of the R-series and putting their "developmental dollars" towards the Massey line! I know he felt quite bitter about this at the time! You do share the same opinion, tbranIJ MG

I've talked "up and down" the heirarchy of AGCO (over some of thier parts prices and availability) and never got better response than from the local "block man"! Sometimes starting on the bottom rung of the ladder doesn't require climbing any further! ;-)

Mostly Green, Your dealer is right on. If you look at that A85 and tell me that couldnt have had a bigger rotor in it then a R75. They said they couldnt make it any bigger. Move it out under that awful looking turrent auger you would gain another foot on the right side of the combine. Agco will be out of the combine market as soon as they drop the Natural Flow. No Gleaner guy wants a massey painted grey. IG

Have you ever run a newer MF rotary. In our area Gleaner is losing ground and MF is gaining.

Yea I have run a Massey before,as a matter fact this year. What you have to remember,that where I live or you live,isnt the whole country. I have talked to enough Agco people to know that there are somewhere between 2and half to 3 New Gleaners built to ever Massey at Hesston.So that tells me something.They have tried to sell the Massey in red ,they have tried to sell the massey in yellow,now they are trying to sell it in silver, That tells me something.I am not saying a Massey is bad,just dont take my gleaner from my I drive them because that is what I like and want,if I wanted a AXIAl I would already be driving a Red one. well sorry to write this in the gleaner board here. but i agree with illinois gleaner in a way only i would not but a red painted gleaner. i know either way agco handled it would make people made. i agree with you totally on agco painting mf combines silver it shouldn't be going on. only on the class 8 combine. if a gleaner guy wanted an mf combine he would buy one painted red same way with a mf guy wanting a gleaner one. as far as saying agco will be out of the combine market when they quit the natural flow it won't happen they will still be in business. but if they do quit it, it will be a bad day because it will make u guys mad as it would us MF guys if they wuit our line. they need to keep the mf and gleaner seperate until the class 8 then combine them. but i did talk to a custom cutter out there and he loved the mf but he said it was so big and bulky to get around with trucking it so he said he didn't think it would go over real big because of that reason he said it did have a lot of capacity and was nice but was just too big for them. what is so bad about the turrent auger we love ours have not had any problems with them. allen

It seems that we are in this disscusion alot Allen, I think this is the first time we have ever agreed on anything. I just dont like the turrent auger because it is so complex compared to the Gleaner,and loud I might add,with a slower unloading rate.But what I hate the most is they didnt cover it up on the side of the combine.Always good debating with you Allen. i have never noticed it being loud but have never been around any newer gleaner, i do wish agco would have kept the mf designed turrent auger that was on the conventional gleaner c62 and 8680 mf it was a lot better design this one agco has on the mfs has a lot of dead space in it. which creates a major wear area where the corn is pushed up then has to go over, the mf design ther was no dead area which took away the wear spot well the major area. other than that we love the turrents just personal preference. always nice debating with you as well. i guess we both just love our own brands enough to stand behind them i know agco is going the right direction seems to be a lot of talk about combines in our area. needs to be some good deals on combines though to get the other brand of people to trade for agco. allen
