you can use the same concaves and the same grates. the straw will be chopped a little finer but is still able to bale it. no covers needed.if you don't have a lot of acres.
We have always used the large wire concaves for oats up till this year when the oats were lighter bu_wt, I ran with a small wire in the front concave but a blanker plate would do the same, also speed up the cylinder more to rub the oats harder to increase the bu_wt. You will have no problem. I use a 1680 with special rotor. Email if you have more questions.
