What is your Arbor Day Foundation free trees review? Is it legit? Do they actually send the trees in exchange for your donation? What condition are they in when they arrive?

They do send trees, and the trees come in small plastic bags/sleeves with moisture retention beads(?) around the roots. The deciduous trees may be leafless, and may in fact look more like twigs with roots rather than "trees" as the trees in my experience are about 12 to 18 inches tall seedlings.
Having said that, I'm not sure I'd repeat the experience of ordering such that the order ends up as part of their fall shipping as the approximate shipping dates may turn into a best case scenario, at which point winter weather may end up causing problems with planting outside.
