Combines Auto Header Control not working on low side

Have a 315 Flex Head on a late M-2. It works fine on the low and medium setting, but won't auto control on the high setting. Maybe one of the Gleaner Gurus can solve both our problems.

Sounds like you have a broken wire on the low side. I had a similar problem with my N6 and found out later that a mouse had chewed on the harness coming out of the cab. The field looked like a bad haircut before I found the problem. Pete Hinrichsen

Make sure you have rate of raise and rate of lower slowed down to 6 second for both ways.(Check with full throttle and timing from full raise to full lower.). Have encountered several areas to check for wiring issues. Check for the obvious mouse chewed wires where the harness exits the cab. Have seen wires broken internally where throat pivots. This one is hard to find but if you have machine running and activate header lower switch then move or wiggle harness at pivot point on lH side of throat sometimes the head will lower. This means you have to open up harness and find wire that is broke internally. Remember blue wire in harness if for raise mode and red wire is for lower mode. White_Brown wire is high,White_Green is medium, and White_Orange is low. Also have seen where wiring is hooked to switch on header the red or blue wire can be broke internally where wires pivot. You need to disconnect drive shaft from combine to find this one as it is dangerous to move and check three position controller with head running.Test light will come in handy in checking for broken wires. Good luck, Hyper Harvest II

my 816 is not dependable in middle range, put new springs on now I am suspecting the copper contacts on lever might be corroded.

That's what happened to our 815 last year. We couldn't get it to work in the low setting. We took some emery cloth and shined up the contacts and springs - that's all it took.
