Combines AUTO REEl SPEED

it is a boltin plugin kit. As one speeds up the ground speed it signals a corresponding input to the new processor to speed up the reel or slow down. Works on corn head as well. Processor has a minimum speed setting and a coarse setting then it is fine tuned by the new switch that replaces the one you have now. Think this is std now. Might have to dig a little for the old n or look at a salvage yard for a unit.

DO YOU HAVE IT ON YOURS AND DO YOU THINK ITS WORTH THE MONEY. AlSO DOES IT DO A GOOD JOB OF KEEPING THE RATIO OF GROUND SPEED TO REEl OR CORN HEAD SPEED WHERE YOU WANT IT

I don't know what everyone else's opinion is about the auto reel speed, but we've never been able to get used to it, thus we don't use ours. It just seemed too sluggish at speeding up_slowing down the reel. We leave our reel speed set and just reach over and turn the knob a bit if we need to change it.

I have it on my 89 R50 and am pretty much always using it in auto for beans, wheat and milo. After initial adjustment it works good. Think in the service manual explains how to do that.

My 1998 R-52 has it I sometimes use it and sometimes I do not. The thing that bothers me is when you turn around and speed up the real speeds up too, which in turn lets the reel run way too fast. You can always switch to manual to prevent this though. Overall though once I get the machine dialed in I usually keep my speed somewhat constant , therefore the auto real spd. becomes a non issue. my thoughts, Mike

I had one do this from time to time. I first swaped the auto speed module and problem came back. Then I replaced the potentiometer that has the knob on it to adjust reel speed and problem never reapeared. Good luck
