The problem with doing that would be the gps wouldn't know what position the steering tires are in so once you were going straight the tires would stay turned and you would keep turning until the light on the opposite side would come on because you went to far. It would probably work out that you would end up in the same place as you would with a straight line but instead of a straight line you would have a wavy line.

I think Trimble has the best unit,but this is my personal feeling as I have ran the other system and found this to be the best.Now I run 3 EZ steer systems with tilt and the new 500 monitor,I have this in my 2004 STX450 and seed @ 6 MPH with 64 feet and it never wonders more than 2-3 inches off line,as for spraying I have a unit in a Spx 3150H_C with 90 foot booms and around 18MPH it has a little wave in the tire tracks,but if I slow down to 15MPH it stays on line very good,as for theWDX 1101 swather with a 36 foot Honey Bee I never sceen a system work this good it is all most perfect in this unit,as for the unit going in to other peices of equipment after set up and a quick write down of setting for records it takes about 10 minutes to move around.

I am with spiff esesially if you are going to swap it around I think the jd one is good but not quite as versitile I even use my ez on my pickup sprayer and works great some nights I will spray allnight I think you would have a really hard time doing that with a jd one pull off a air bag steering whell without setting it off ect to swap it around... I am sure it can be done I have planted with the ez since it's first interduction works great trust me with fuel cost fert chemicals it will pay for itself it short order ay less fatigue and you realy pay attention to other stuff that you woun't normally catch near as quick some of the best money I have ever spent on the farm

thanks fellas,there is a trimble dealer in our town and will look into it,like you said about money well spent montana,i dont think you can get a productivity increase per dollar spent on anything on the farm like you would for auto steer in my opinion.
