Combines Automatic Header on 1666

Bought a used 1020, hooked it up and same result. Finally found wildlife had chewed completely through each of the three wires leading from the console to the harness that goes to the header. Removed the panel on left side of cab. repaired wires and all is fine. I'd check the sensor shaft under the header to make sure it is freely moving. Set potentiometer in correct place. check continuity in wiring haress back to the cab. Next there are test procedures to use an ohmmeter to check the controls and the header potentiometer. Wish I'd looked for the broken wires first.

The 1600s use a different potentiometer than the 2100s. If your other combine was a 2100, you'll need the older potentiometer. Good luck.
