After 30 years of running massey the old man and bro and I have had enough too. They are looking at trading to a different breed as well. I had enough 5 years ago and traded. If you love to turn wrenches and get greasy during the work day these are the ones to own. They do a great job when they run but keeping them running without missing a beat seems to be a neverending battle. Got a 2600 some odd hour 860 with 30' plat for sale if your still die hard on them though.

You lasted longer than me. I had enough after 3 years with mine. There was a few things I liked about it but you summed it up in your last 2 sentences.

doesn't sound like the old girl ever hurt you much. have you figured how much more the payments will be on the new oneIJ If you go over the thing in the off season and really fix the stuff it needs you will not stop much in the field. Most guys will not do this. GS

There will be days like that with any combine. The turbo is not a commen breakdown they usually go a long time.letting things cool off before you shut it off is importent. The pully failed because the three bolts maybe backed off. Put everything back with locktight and check it before harvest. good luck
