Not much baling around here but from what I hear. The standard Gleaner eight bar with all forward extended bars and rotor sweeps will do well. (extended bars were not standard until '01) Bison will be as good if not some better. Have not heard about CDF (could posibly need forward bars and maybe some knifes removed).

I can say that if we had our Chopper out of our 94 Bison installed R62 is last season, you could have bailed the straw no worries! it will do a better job than the standard Rotor with sweeps in my opinion! Our machine has a lot of the mods done to it which would help with straw as well! Third helical extension, steep pitch over thresher and extended helicals in discharge and cage cover over sep grate! Runs smooth as a babys bum Rolf

I have a R52 with 20ft. head I have found that if you cut your wheat back and forth so windrows are close together and then you rake them even closer so pickup on baler picks up both you will make an excellent bale. This is in 60 to 80 bushel wheat. The newer wheats are not as tall as they used to be.I use a kuhn type rake and it does excellent job
