Combines bars

I believe that most operators preferr the wide spaced bars for corn and soybeans, can't say for other crops. I've never used the narrow spaced bars but I know there are still some being used around here in corn and soybeans. I'd say if your going to harvest lots of corn and soybeans and the wide won't hurt your performance in other crops you might as bite the bullet and change them.

I would imagine it has the narrow spaced on thresher side and wide on seperator. I prefer wide all the way threw especially in the seperator side. We have late '80's and early '90's machines running with original narrow spaced bars and getting by just fine. I believe the narrow rasp bars last longer but definitely prefer the wide rasp for the large seed crops and the tougher to convey straws. If you are sure to pick rocks I would suggest the sump. Sump will need to be dumped a time or two per day even if not in the rocky fields. Check with me on an enhancement for the sump system to help eliminate feeding problem. The hump will help feeding in most crops and respond to a rock better than the flat standard door. Good luck.
