Combines battery drain on 1680

Connect a volt meter between a battery post and the battery cable to see if ther is a draw on the battery.If it is showing over .2 volts disconnect the alternator wires and see if its draining there, if not start pulling fuses to try to find where the source is. Make sure the top of the battery is clean.If the batteries aren't showing any voltage drain with the volt meter connected, the batteries are probably bad. Randy

I had a pair of batteries I thought were bad or I had other problems on a combine. The problem was corrosion where the ground cable from the batteries bolted to engine. Sometimes I got a good ground and the engine started fine then in the middle of the day when I started engine it would not turn over.
