We have had a battery blow up on one combine and it seems they lose their charge after sitting for about 3 or 4 weeks. Is that the kind of problems you are talking aboutIJ

loosing charge, yes. Do you replace with Deere recommended battery or some other batteryIJ Have you found any battery that does not lose its chargeIJ

Don't know how new, but friend has a CTS 11, that the batteries blew up. Dealer said it was not the first case he seen. He had to get the wiring harness also, as it melted.

Buy Delco. John Deere is selling bad batteries

So far we have used JD batteries for replacement but I wouldn't rule out another brand.

We had problems on our 2000 9650STS. They would just drain after a few weeks. After months of dramas, dealer eventually blamed it on the stereo. We disconnected the stereo, they put new batteries in, gave us the bill, and said cya later. Well fat lot of good that did. The next set of batteries drained as well. So now we just unplug the batteries when it goes into storage.

Was your dealer happy to refund your money you wasted on the first set of batteriesIJ Did he acknowledge you had a problemIJ 50 Series have had a master cut off switch added now.

I put JD Hibernator batteries in our 7720 3 0r 4 years ago. It sits from November until June or July without being touched and starts right up every year. We don't unhook anything or do anything special. One thing that I have learned is to replace BOTH batteries at the first sign of trouble-about every 5 years and it seems to really help.
