I pulled every other wire out of the concave , vanes are set in the middle, rocelle specialty rotor and i have a air flow chaffer..... i left the bars in the grates.... no cover plates AS for crop conditions the straw is tough beans have been around the 14-17% moisture yield would be in the mid 30s... but even when it was hot and dry it was still blowing out regardless of ground speed tried running between 3-5.5mph... seemed to make no differnce.

By a previous post, if you're being pelted with beans, it's most likely due to the spreader_chopper throwing them. This indicates rotor loss. By this post (left the bars in the grates),I'd guess you have slotted grates installed as opposed to keystock grates. If you have keystock grates, you might try installing them one at a time starting at the rear. This will provide more opening for separation and will tumble trash some. Question: How many of the straight paddles do you have installed on the rear of the rotor and in what positionsIJemail if you'd like.

Have you checked the zero on concave clearance. It could be off making you think you are running tighter than you are. In green tough beans we have run are concaves on one to complete threshing sooner more time for separation. The combine will still perform H.P. wise that tight don't be scared to try it. Their are two other guys in our area that run Red that tight. In good cutting we will run around 2 on the concaves. It runs the same speed through the field anywhere from 1 - 4 on concaves. Just better threshing in the tough spots in the field.

Open up the sieves and chaffer. Check your return to make sure they are set correctly. Allow some foreign material in your bin but not to the point you get docked (most people do either too good of a job or not good at all!). Slow the fan down some. Close the rotor in tighter to about 1 to 2. Keep the rotor full and make sure you speed up the rotor to the point where you see some split beans then back it down some. let me know how you make out.
