Thanks everybody, sounds like more than me have had this problem. We took all the advice, put a shield around the idiler pully and bolted the "mudflap" type material that deflects the residue, to the side of the combine so cobs couldn't sneek through there. There were already a couple holes in the side of the back of the combine. Didn't have anymore trouble but we were almost done with corn and went to milo, so that cured the problem. Thanks, Greg C.
