unverferth makes a good header trailer. Seen several deere headers on them that seem to hold up fine. They also seem to track good on the road

We have a golden bell trailer, we haul a 25ft flexhead on. it seems to be a heavily built trailer, I certainly wouldn't be afraid to put a 12 row head on it. It really trails nice too.

Harvest Hand makes a good trailer. They pull very nicely. Get the double axle model. I think they are strong enough.

The best all around head trailer is from Cole in Media Illinois, 309-924-1191. It has a unique oscillating axle that is heavy enough for 30 flex heads while allowing you to back it into a building like a 2-wheel trailer. There are no 12-row corn heads in my area so I dont know if it will handle one. I did add one brace under the front of the main beam so the sickle doesnt sag. I totally agree with you that allowing a head to sag on a trailer isnt the best thing you can do for it. Tom in MN

you may be right, but my neighbor bought a Harvest Hand--put 20' head on it, couldn't go over 25 MPH w_o it weaving all over the highway

Pat, Had your neighbor been drinkingIJ Seriously, I picked up a new 30' Harvest Hand with dual tires where they're made in Southern Iowa, drove to Northern Iowa, picked up a 25' flex head, and took it to the border of Kansas and Oklahoma. I suppose it was about a 1000 miles or so. I tried to keep my speed down to something reasonable, but there were a few times I was going over 60 mph and never had any problems with it weaving.

I will have to second the Harvest Hand. We bought the single axel model and pull a 20' flex at 50mph and haven't had any swaying trouble. It is also very nice to pull the "goose dolly" off and back in the barn with the tractor.

If you're not going far, and speed isn't a real concern, a homemade one is easy and cheap. We picked up a used john deere running gear, mounted a old 5x7 toolbar to the low side and a 4x4 to the high side. You simply have to make cutouts in the lower toolbar to accomodate the skids underneath the header.

I don't haul a corn head but I haul a 30' flex head about 600 miles a year. The trailer I have is a Bergen 3600 I had them build it with a support bar for the cutter bar and brakes and lights and four brackets to set the header on it.Type in www.bergenindustries.com_ht_headtrhtml to look at one see what you think.
