I have thrown away new Chinese chain. It is junk. I wore out a chain breaker trying to make it work. Finally threw the rest away and bought U.S. made chain. End of problems. If you can find chain made in Taiwan or old Japanese chain, it is generally better quality than (Mainland) Chinese. In my experience,the U.S. chain is best. Ditto for bearings.

We have had good luck with tsubaki chain tried some cheap chain on baler didnt last 100 rnd bales not sure what kind it was.

I would agree any of the imported chain is crap. The imports tend to get stiff very easily and they are hell on any sproket that you run them on they eat them like candy. Brent

After cheap imported chain destroyed a pair of expensive sprockets that took a lot of time to replace, I bought Diamond chain and connector links. I would never go back to the cheap junk because that is what it is--junk.

What brand is your JD chainIJ In case you dont know already, you can find the manufacturers name stamped on the side of chain links.
