I agree with you as well bruno and corn pro but I did want to make one correction in the original post. Kinze was the first to have the planter out and Deere DID copy it. Enough to have kinze take them to court and win on patent right infringements. Of couse deere would sell parts to a kinze owner. They will interchange and if deere's cheaper or has one on hand who want's to sit around and wait for parts when they can be planting. Well that was my two cents. Respectfully

in regards to your comments, it is obvious that you are so blinded by the color green that you don' even notice the most basic of combine designs. the only reason that john deere has the lion's share of the conventional market is because massey ferguson handed it to them when they stopped producing the 850 and 860 combine 12 years ago. It is funny, you claim that john deere copies no manufacturer, but is obvious that john deere has copied mf combines for decades. it is no small coincidence that the 20 series jd combines were strikingly similiar to the 860 combine. even after 12 years of not producing the 860 deere is still trying to integrate the finer points of the 860 into the 9000 series. I hope that you someday realize that just because other people can think for themselves and not buy a jd that you are not smarter than them.

You speak the truth. I know numerous engineers in both the Deere and Case combine plants. Most all are the best of friends and do numerous things togather. I think all of the engineers and workers put 110% into their work and are very proud of it on both sides of the color fence. Case and Deere people respect one another and the other products.

Yes Massey is a good combine but it is like he said you never know who's going to own the company. Personally i would like to see Massey come out with a new combine but it is very unlikely in the near future.

No deere combine engineers left deere to work at Case. In the past 5 years, engineers have moved from Case to Deere. Deere pays better. Both Deere and Case manufacture combines in the same town-about 1.5 miles from each other. Deere was working on their new STS for several years and were (and still are) hiring combine engineers away from Case. Many people have left recently to go to Deere because of uncertainty about what will happen when the NH Case merger goes through. NH is a progressively run company. It could be argued that Case is not. Many of these engineers were worried they would be cut loose when the two companies merge soon. Time will tell.

More like IF the companies merge. Our loving gov't still hasn't given it's blessing yet.
