Combines Big Clean Grain Elevator

Someone else can tell you when the size changed, but my 1680 had a 10 inch clean grain with bubble up. It was a late '91. I'm wondering if it wasn't just the 1480s that had the 8 inch and horizontal auger. If this is so, I'm thinking there wouldn't be that much market for what you're talking about. It'd likely be easier to retro the CIH 10" as well.

I've seen an experimental combine with 2 yes TWO clean grain elevators! It wasn't that hard to do it either. Does away with the pan on the shaker sieve, that throws the grain forward to the clean grain auger and wears out the bushings. looks more like an auger bed under the sieves. Still had one return auger, bigger not needed for tailings.

Glad to hear you got your project done. Did it perform as you intended. With all the coments about the clean grain drive slip clutch slipping, the hyd sounds good. Maybe you could make that auger taller (with a fold down) and really make a pile of grain.lol
