I know if you look on Honey Bee's website the largest header they have listed is the 42' which is the 42' that New Holland uses. I know about the 51' that you are talking about, I remember seeing a thing about it a while ago on Prairie Farm Report. I know there was quite a mechanism on that header to help eliminate stress and for transport the right section folded beside the combine and most of the wight is carried on a guage wheel for transport. I can't remember for sure but I would assume that the same guage wheel would support most of the weight while in the field as well. I know in our area there are a lot of guys that don't even want to go to anything any bigger than 30' because their land has big enough hills that they can't do a good job with anything bigger. Also if you go too big it gets to be that you have to make sure you have an experienced operator on there or else it is just too much for them to watch.
