Combines Bin unload rates

1994- R62. We had severe wear problems on the end of the bin section of unloader auger, next to the universal, mostly caused by hard to move lentils and other pulses. Put a second section of flight in there i,e. double flight. Used hard facing powder on both sections in this area to prevent wear. Unloader is faster in lentils and etc.

Wear is not the "difference" in this case. Augers are new. Just seems auger is starved for grain...shields are adjusted to max opening. Maybe the models (only a few years I think) with the short piece of incline auger actually allow for faster unloadingIJ Could there be less of a bottle neck on the models with the inclineIJ Would like to keep auger as full as possible for seed soybeans, otherwise not a big deal.

I wouldn't be afraid of moding the '72 if the '60 is faster and has had no problems. To help reduce the wear on end of auger next to ujoint I have extended it right up to bushing support. I am also going to try the double auger flighting idea for we can us all the help we can get in edible beans. Some grasses are also taxing that area.
