Combines Bison Rotor in Gleaners

Yes. There are somewhere between 12 and 20 of them that have run at least one season. last seasons so called production build had manufacturing and or spec problems so I could not promote. Even with the spec problem they did work very well in all but one machine I know of. That was in a unique machine which was an early P3 equiped machine. Problem was it ground tough soybean straw and corn cobs. Harvest was over by time we put our finger on the two fold problem. Number one problem was cylinder bars (beaters) were running too close to helicals. Cylinder was built in excess of 25" diameter MAX. Second problem was early P3s had twice the helicals threwout a large area between thresher and separator side. It is very likely we could of removed the excess helicals and it would of worked as well as they did in all other machines. Now I would say half these machines run corn and soybeans only while other half have wheat added to mix. A couple of these machines run canola but I couldn't get you a real good comparison. A lot of that crop got caught in big wind just prior to getting a good test. Best gut feeling they could give me is it worked equally as well as 25" rotors. Now next biggest question is how would it work in comparison to what I am running now. My answer would be much better if you still have standard 25" cylinders especially if bars are not extended to discharge and maybe even still have reverse bars installed. Now if you have sweeps and all forward bars the difference would be less. I have no info on how it will compare to Gleaners production CDF. We'll know more this summer. We should have good supply of Bisons to spread threwout the country this year and even a couple heading your way. All indicators are there is big potential for this design. Save fuel and crop is the name of the game.
