I saw the black 860 at the Prairie Farmer Farm Progress Show. Don't know what year. Maybe they have a picture of it.

Well shoot Guy, I was certain it was you. I was under the impression the gray was still there where the bin run models us farmers used have. The rest was black but I can't argue because I really can't remember for certain. All I know is it was just one heckuva good looking combine and seeing that A85 gleaner picture recently reminded me of it. I have a picture gallery I have started and been collecting pics of unusual machinery or special runs just for my own viewing pleasure. I then was thinking about that combine and thought it would sure be nice to add to the collection. If you ever run across it please let me know. Thanks a million.

Hey, I got it. I'll have to dig a bit for it. Give me your e-mail and I'll shoot you a copy of it when I find it and scan it. The story is,(you know everything has a story!) I saw it at the 1st Farm Progress Show I ever attended in 1983 in Marion Ia. I thought I heard someone say it was black and gold for the Iowa Hawkeyes, but not sure if that was true. I remember that it was roped off and no one was allowed in the cab. I asked a Massey rep if I could go up in the cab, and he replied that I could for $100. Never saw the inside of the cab!!

I shot agco (massey division) an email awhile ago to see if they can produce any pics or history of the combine. If they give me anything I'll be sure to post it back for you too. Thanks again
