Quick fix in the field, try hammering on a large lock washer onto the auger flighting. It sometimes gives just enough grabbing edge to keep things moving. Remove your ear savers so stalks don't get hung up near snouts. For stubborn corn, try bolting some old sickle sections onto the outer edge of your cross auger's flighting. Watch your clearances. Mount them so their shallow enough not to hit the stripper bar on the back side of the cross auger. I think you can get about 3_8 to 1_2 inch distance out from auger, but do some checking to make sure. In the middle of the auger, some 1_2 inch fingers mounted will help grab stalks and feed them. If you harvest in the midday heat, the downed, dry corn stalks will fluff up on the head. You may want to try harvesting after dark, then stalks may have enough moisture allowing the snapping rollers to get a better grab. But your feeder beater clutch may also get a workout if they don't feed evenlyIJ Your corn stalks may just be rotten and break in the snap rollers. if that is the case, you may want to invest in a corn reel.
