Combines black farmers

I have to agree with Shanes post. I also can not get a FSA loan either. Most everyone around here uses banks for thier operating expenses. It seems to me by your story and post your wanting some sort of special treatment. Anymore if anyone has some problems its easy to say I'm a minority and was treated unfairly. Also the number of farmers of all races are declining more and more. With your best farm land in the country it sounds like poor management instead of unfair treatment. Its just that all farmers seem to want something for nothing, you sound to me like your just wanting the government to buy you tractors and everything else. If you were in fact mistreated I wish you fair compensation, but if indeed this is a phony lawsuit I hope you don't get a cent. I can see the FSA employees side also with all these lawsuits on discrimination they probaly dont want to deal with you, because the littlest thing they do might rub you wrong and they could lose thier job and get sued.

you gotta understand something the reason for the lawsuit has nothng to do with money. all my dad asks is to be treated fairly just like anybody else is to much to ask for

I understand your point but like I said, I am Polish and Blonde but you don't see me in a lawsuit with our local bank, ya see I tried to get a loan to build a house and was denied. I blame it on being blonde. That would make this a situation like your fathers yet it sounds ridiculous doesn't itIJ But if anyone has been denied loans due to his race I feel for ya but $20 million isn't gonna make it right. Really, even talking about racism could get anyone who posts about it here in some trouble so lets not get too crazy.

I am sure that their are balck farmers that have been discriminated against but I think it was silly of the govt' to send everyone of them a 50K$ check a few years back just for being a black farmer.

Around my parts the FSA loan program has been pretty thoroughly abused and is full of fraud and deceit. The honest guys using it are embarrassed over how it is run. From what I hear, someone classified as a minority with a halfway decent plan cannot be denied funding. I've heard stories of some who spend their loan, declare bankruptcy, and go right back into the loan program. So I guess there is not a lot of sympathy for your father's case out here.

I agree FR. Things are tough all over for everyone regardless of color. A big part of what is wrong with this country is people would rather sit on their a$$ with their hand out rather than do for themselves.
