JD makes a kit which consists of a couple of long pieces of keystock that clamp on to the countershaft above the precleaner, thus making it a beater to move the material. I solved the problem by opening the precleaner one turn on wheat. left it that way for everything,(canola barley)no problem with sample. Makes the surface of the precleaner rough so it can shove the material off, also allows more air through.

We ran into the same problem this past summer. Opening the precleaner one turn sounds like a good idea. I wish I had thought of it. I turned the air up. It helped, too.

I had the same problem with my two 9600s but no yet with my 9650walker. I thought at first maybe worn distribution augers, or maybe too much air not letting chaff blow under the shaker table. Our conditions here are very dry with high yielding wheat, lots of trash. last season I removed all the walker curtains so the shaker table would not recieve so much chaff from the walkers and it helped a great deal. My cylinders and bars were in good shape so threshing was not a problem. I dont run choppers So it was easy to diagnose straw for overthreshing. I would try to get rid of the curtains if you can and make sure that you not loosing any over the walkers as soon as you do so. If your not loosing any then your shoe is not going to see a much trash from the walkers.

We had the same problem with our 9550 cws.The problem is too much material being pushed through the concave. It tended to happen to us when the crop was very dry and crisp and we had the same settings on the concave from that morning when it needed a bit harder thrashing. So open up concave give it a try let us know how you got on.
