Deere is trying to do the same thing a dealer every 50 to 100 miles. They have to buy several stores or be a big store. We cant even get part that great anymore- closed a parts warehouse. Just need to make a stand and say enough is enough.

We live in east-south east rural Alberta. We are used to travelling 75 to 100 miles to get parts for any colour of machine. Our farm has been mostly green for a long time and all green since 1993. In 2004 the clutch went out of our 4wd JD tractor in seeding time. The tractor had 1948 hours on it. It cost $ 6000. to fix it and $2000. to rent a tractor. Deere just laughed at us when we asked them to pay for the parts or at least sell us the parts at their cost. They didn't care. Even though we were dissapointed in Deere we bought a new 9660 sts combine. Now the motor went out of it at 347 hours. Deere had no choice but to cover it under warrenty. At first they wanted to fix the motor up with a new crank and connecting rod but the service manager at our dealership said they wouldn't allow that. Deere came across with a new motor. I am not sure Deere has this engine thing figured out either. The new motor they put in our combine may not last any longer than the first one did. The quallity dosentn't seem to be there any more and Deere dosentn't seem to care about their customers either. I think its time to change colours.

It's hard to imagine having to travel that far to a dealer. Within 30 miles I have 4 CIH dealers, 2 NH dealers and 3 JD dealers. Some are stores of the same dealership but there is always someone close wherever we are working. I guess we are spoiled but I'll take it.

Yeah and these hurricanes are not helping But lets face it..... Bush was probably a better president than AlGore (remember the guy who invented the internet) and Kerry I bet everyone one thing...im sure bush will be glad whenever his term is done last time a president had this much to deal with was probably regan (just a guess) Kinda feel sorry for whoever gets nominated I guess if its a democrate then the news media will change and act like the world is perfect again and talk about how great everything is.. So maybe that would be for the better

Mega Ditto's there Case Farmer. This president has so much to deal with because we had a president for 8 years that did nothing but put on a woody every day for the nation! Then add terrorists and natural disasters, and W has a full plate!

I run both a Deere and a Gleaner combine. Distance does not mean as much as service. I am very well satisfied with both Deere and Agco and the dealers they have in my area. I have some IH tillage and seeding equipment and I am going to change to something else because my local dealer cannot believe that I run something that old. The Deere and Agco dealers are just glad that I come to them and try their hardest to get me what I need. If all CaseIH dealers are like my area that is sad and explains quite a bit about why they are losing market share.
