Combines Breaking raddle

We used to have that problem on our C2. We would break them the rest of the way off and keep going. Which worked fine untill we started getting cobs underneath the chain and slipping the slip clutch. I don't know what the width is on an A machine but I would think that you could go to a metal slat like in an M2 of course you would probably have to cut them and rerivit them. I'm pretty sure you need what is there but when the wood keeps breaking you don't have much choice. You can't stop a whole days harvest and go get a new chain just to have another one break on you ten to twenty acres later. Hope this helps

are you in cornIJ If so it is MANDATORY you install a COB SHIElD. It must be removed for all crops except corn. I have seen metal slats welded on the connector links. Big job.

I broke some on my K. The slats are not too Expensive ~ 7.35 each. I used the bolts used on the knife to put them in. You can install the slats in the machine that way.
