I would put fish plates on the front and back to give it a little extra if the cylinder brackets are not in the way. Just one on the bottom would provide alot more, but if you don't ever want to do it again front and rear would be the best. If it is stressed elsewere it may just break at the end of whatever gussets you add. Whatever you decide, make sure to use good rod. Don't use hardwire in your wirefeed as it won't be nearly as strong and is more brittle.

straighten it out and tack into place then v grind it out good deep long vees..when all done start with small weld deep in to the vee then layer welds slowly building it up do it over a period of time don't rush..the last welds can be wide to stitch it all together.....now if u can run a gusset or plates try get the welds in the middle of the plate if possible...if laying flat plate cut the ends to a point try not to weld the plates straight across the axle you may find this is where it breaks next time if do a mig welder or stick are both fine for the job the preparationis the key to good welds good luck
