Well, I hardly think that everybody needs to mothball their sts, however thanks for the heads-up. Are those front tires Michelin 1050r65_32's, if so who do you like them. I just ordered a 9760 and I am going to put those on the front and 750r65_26's on the back, all Michelins. IMHO best tires on the market BY FAR!!!

I'd blame it on poor heat treating. One weak spindle getting through all of the Quality Assurance measures can happen.

You are going to break them again unless you get final drive hub in the center of your rim. The hub is not supposed to be more than 4 inches off center on the wheel. 2 inches on duals. I think. John Deere is very specific about the off set on drive wheels. Not that it should not take it any way.

I'm inclined to agree with you. When you run the terra tires I think the frame extensions (typically used for duals) should be on there and the rim as centered as possible. Offset rims produce way too much axle stress, and for no reason when the fix is so simple. I like the ones that have the truss rod under the machine to tie the extensions together.

i do not know what the issue is, but it could have been just a bad spindle from the factory...we had the same thing happen on an 860 mf, bin empty, at low speed...no idea why...we were lucky...no major damage beyond the final drive...hope you were that lucky too... beh
