Combines Bubble up auger

I don't think anyone is willing to run a combine long enough to find out how far that auger will go with a rod welded on there. All the wear is on the edge, very little occurs at the flat surface of the flighting. I ran one on a vertical unloader over 2K hours and the flighting still looked like 80% left. Only place that wear is a real problem even with this fix is on the exposed portion of the fountain auger, and if it has to push corn up into a high extension, this will require more attention than any other auger on the machine. Easiest to randr too. gs

I don't know either. Do you have an auger that has double flighting at the lower endIJ We've replaced 5 or 6 of the TR-99 bubble up augers. The supposedly latest update wore thru too at the u-joint. The double flighting one wore out fastest. A couple of them were not balanced. They about shook the auger tubing right out of the grain tank. We got about 500 sep. hrs out of the best one. My suggestion is to be sure to put in a new stub shaft and the u-joint and a new u-joint too. I have run out of warranty replacements, and beside that they always charged me for wear based on about 500 hrs. I have been thinking about taking the upper part of the bubble up off and putting in a hyd. driven vertical from Burvee or one of the other after market companies. In summary there is a big difference in the hardness of the different metals.

First of all, how come there are two part numbers for each typeIJ I just priced out on the internet the part numbers you listed, the 57 number lists at $1122, the 71 at $548, the 44 at $885, and the 47 at $651. My guess would be the abrasion resistant would be better as it is priced higher, but that is just my guess, but why is one of those part numbers 1_2 the priceIJ Would be good for you to try and get some specifics on these augers and let us know. Aftermarket augers may be good to check out also. Not sure, but I think loewen is the only one that also manufactures the NH ones.

There arer two part numbers for each auger because there is an upper and a lower auger on the the TR99. It has a split auger with a pto in the middle. So that is the reason for two part numbers for each. I talked to another New Holland dealer and they told me the Nitrided auger was the better of the two. So I purchased it as that is what he had in stock. Price was for the lower auger(n87029644) $907.91 and the upper auger(n87029647) $667.94. The pto(n86624873) was $111.95 Dealer had 15% off yesterday at his open house so cash price was a little less.

Got the Nitrided one. There are four different one in the parts book. I have about 750 sep. hours on the stock one that was in the combine. At the end of this past fall it was starting to skake the combine also. I see that is has cracked the auger tube some and also the deflecter was broke off. Will need to weld that back up. My old auger didn't look to bad but it looks like to me that the pto and u-joint was the biggest problem. looks like the shaft and tube needed to be new. I also had a hole in the bottom cover(n86537960) of the auger and will need to replace that. looks like the new auger is balanced as it has weights welded on it in places. Got the parts from Vandalia yesterday at there open house. Had 15% off the price of parts with cash. I see the have the new HB flex draper on the lot with the flex knife. It was the same one they demoed last fall.

There are two part numbersfor one of two reasons depending on the style of auger one is the old part numer before they balanced them and the oths breaks the auger down into the two halves of the auger one number for the top one for the bottom. I thing the nitrided oe is longer lasting and the best all arround but you MUST get the ablanced set or they will not last and the combine will vibrate something terrible
