Well starting from the front, if you have field tracker on the conbine you might consider the newer style because the faceplate is beefed up. Then change the fdr drum to a standard drum, this gives you more feeding capacity. Then you definetly need to add a 3rd lift cyl. which will require welding on the cyl. brackets. Not sure about the 30.5 tires, all the 12row ready machines Ive seen have duals. Maybe someone has more knowledge on that one. Then you will need to add a wt. bracket and wts. I think the number is around 1400-1600 lbs. Or could go less on wts. but add fluid in rear tires, hope this helps.

Couple of guys around here run the big 50 inchers on the front. I know one has 18.4x26's on the back, filled with fluid, plus the 3rd lift cylinder, plus the heavy duty feederhouse drive with 4 grooves plus who knows what else. I'd think there would be some problems running 30.5's. One is compaction, another is mud, and the last I can think of is tire loading. looks to me like you'd be way, way over the rating of a 30.5x32. Might be time to look at some rubber tracks, if you wanna keep the width down. Chads

Along with everything that STATIC 84 talked about below, If your machine is older than 2003 you will need to add that clean grain auger funnel that goes down in the shoe.

Geese, if you had a Deere 9600, 9610, 9650, 9660, 9650 STS and bigger you could just put the 12 row on and go. Use to run a 12 row on a 9600 and 9610 with 30.5' tires they can handle it need to worry about the axle and finals. 12 row works great on a 96 and 97 STS.

I have one customer with a 12 row on a 1680 with 4700 hrs on it, also a 2188 with 12 row, and a 2388 with a 12 row. They have done this for years, and only the 2388 has duals. They all have 3 lift cylinders, and field trackers. The field tracker face plates are removed every winter and checked for stress areas. We are trying a 2166 with a 12 row 20" head next year, will have to see how that pans out. We have no axle or final drive trouble and all combines have bin extensions. lOl.

We ran a 1688 2 years with a 13 row 22" header. It has 30.5 tires and I made a bracket for 4 lift cylinders. I was worried about 3 twisting the feeder. No problems but I tried to be careful because it's HEAVY.
