Combines Buckwheat

I've harvested millet that had a bunch of buckwheat in it. It goes through fine once you get it into the combine. My problem was with the sund pickup that I was using. That @nand^%*n buckwheat would wrap around the rubber paddles and stall the pickup. Got to where I had to cut it off twice a round.(Was really glad to get that field done!!) But no, I have never had any trouble with it wrapping around the rotor. DAB

I combined buckwheat several years ago with my N6 and didn't have any trouble. Be sure you use enough air to get some of the false kernels out.

Had a guy a few years back harvest buckwheat with R50 and R62 with no problems. A N6 will handle tough or green straw very well as long as helicals are stacked or channel helicals are being used.

Just a thought. I think Buckwheat has a low test weightIJ ...say like 20-25 pounds_bushel..... If so maybe you can use the "sunflower settings" Maybe this helps give you some ideas.....Jack
