Combines building trailer for cornhead

Take a look at the Unverferth header trailer, we use one here at the dealership. It work good for short hauls, but I wouldn't recomend it for long highspeed hauls. I don't think there is much you can do about centering the wieght, one side is going to be heavier that the other. Be sure to make your cradle adjustable so you can haul other brands or other types of headers, that is one advantage that makes the Unverferth works for us.

I used an old 4 T running gear with 15" wheels on the snout side and 14" wheels on the throat side. I bolted two 2X12's with a 2X4 header to the snout side and welded a 4"channel upside down to the throat side. On the throat side I welded a cup like bracket into which the cornhead stands fit. By adjusting the corn head stands you can set the mounting angle of the head and the head clearance so nothing rubs the wheels. The rig works well with my F-3. the only problem is on sharp turns the fromt wheel can rub the 2X12.

look at Golden Bell. We had them on the harvest run this summer. Pulled a 25 ft. flex at 75mph and faster for over 60 miles. Didn't have trailer lights and it was getting dark fast.
