Combines Burning oil in Deutz engines

we have noticed as it gets time for oil change, consumption increases. Also a dirty air filter will dramatically increase oil usage. On our machine, 913c, we can harvest for about three days, then all of a sudden its two qts low. Also we don't fill the crankcase up to the full mark unless on severe slopes. Crank splash will vaporize some oil. We had a 200 Allis (2900) eng. long time ago that would consume 2qts per day. One day we ran out of spare oil qts. so we ran it til noon. Brought in oil and checked it and found it right above add mark. Ran it the rest of the day and it was still at add. Eng wasn't 'burning' oil. Just would lower to the add mark and stay there.

Hi Sebas I've been following your questions about farming etc. a little bit. Have you ever considered coming to the US for a combining seasonIJ

I wish one day can come to the USA to see a combining season but now i haven't time and $ enought. When do you harvesrt the wheat and the cornIJ I harvest the wheat from late may to early august and the corn from late august to late november. last week i seed the corn. I seed Pioneer B-23, A-68 and R-42. Did you know these kind of corn IJ

Haven't been on this site for a while, Sebas. I would enjoy, if you would email me. I am in custom harvesting since 98. Our harvest runs from May to October. I don't know much about seed varieties. But I know that all the Pioneer stuff has four digit numbers here. Our customers are planting right now. The first corn is up.
