Combines C 62 perofmance in small grain

I don't know how to make one work, but have seen them run. And boy was it running sweet. Nothing over back, 90 bpa wheat, it was pushing a stripper head though.

I think you might need to try some concave modifications. In 2002, the high wire concave is standard. More than likely, that was done to seperate the grain earlier and keep it off of the walkers as much as possible. On older machines, I would remove some wires to open them up. As far as Gleaner dealers selling the C62, it is hard to go back to conventional technology after selling the rotor concept for over 20 years. Certain customers have needs for them and good dealers will fulfill that need but otherwise the rotor is doing just fine. Kelly

The high wire concave will do the most good for the C62. As was mentioned, Sunnybrook makes one available or you can remove every other wire in the standard style concave grate. This will increase separating capacity before the straw walkers, so the walkers have less material to deal with. Once on the walkers, the walker risers in the C62 may not be adequate for high trash crops, so we've installed John Deere style risers (they kind of know how to make a conventional, but certainly not a rotary!). The Deere risers are far more aggressive and provide greater separation in the walkers. After talking with company rep, I believe AGCO is making or has made available risers very similar to the Deere style, so you don't have to go to Deere to buy them. These increase performance in small grains as well. These 2 mods will, with minimal time and money, really make the C62 perform sweet in small grains and other crops as well. What other Canadians have done to this combine is increase the speed of the 2 beaters behind the cylinder. As from the factory, the 2 beaters run at 90% of the speed of the cylinder. Up north, they are speeding them up to run the same speed as the cylinder, which hyperizes the machine even further. Truly a great combine when one gets familiar with it.

Sure probably works with a stripper head. Nothing going thru it. Where we harvest guys want you to cut it on the ground to get all the straw they you can. In very high yielding tough straw that can be lodged in high humidty conditions is where I would like to make one work. Any more suggestionsIJ

No nothing about the C62 but I do think they are very simply machine!
